Reset the app
Resetting Talkuza clears local settings and cached data on your Mac. Your subscription, redeem code, and account are NOT touched — they live on the server.
What stays safe
- Your subscription and remaining days (tied to your email, not your Mac).
- Your redeem code — it stays valid until its own expiry, and re-entering the same email + code on the same Mac restores access.
- Notes synced through MCP or shared links.
- Your Groq / Fish API keys are stored in the macOS Keychain, which a reset does not clear — but check Settings → APIs after a reset to confirm.
What resets locally
- App preferences (hotkeys, theme, pile position, notification settings).
- Local dictation history, wordbook entries, and saved snippets that were never synced.
- Cached audio and transcripts.
- The Mac's device registration — after a reset you may need to re-activate with your email + code, which counts toward your 3-Mac limit unless you remove the old entry from your Account page first.
How to reset
- Quit Talkuza completely (right-click the menu-bar icon → Quit).
- Open Talkuza → Settings → System → Reset app → confirm.
- Or, from Finder: delete
~/Library/Application Support/Talkuzaand~/Library/Preferences/com.talkuza.app.plist, then reopen Talkuza.
After a reset
- Open Talkuza — you'll see the Activate screen.
- Enter the same email and redeem code you used before. Your subscription is restored from the server.
- Re-check Settings → APIs (Groq/Fish keys) and Settings → General → Shortcuts.
If activation fails after a reset, your Mac may have hit the device limit — remove the old device from your Account page and try again, or contact support.
