Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 October 2026. This policy complies with India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023. Talkuza is a macOS app and website operated from India; this policy covers both. This page is served from the live CMS.

What we collect

We collect only what the service needs to work. Nothing more, and never your audio or your words.

  • Account details you give us: first name, last name, email address, and username — provided at checkout or in the app.
  • Purchase details: months bought, amount, currency, order reference, and payment method type. We never see or store your card, UPI, or wallet secrets — those stay with your payment app.
  • Device details for licence enforcement: your Mac's hardware UUID hash, device name, macOS version, app version, and last-seen IP address. This is how we enforce the 3-Mac limit and stop one account being shared by a hundred people.
  • Country code: derived from your IP at checkout so we can show ₹ INR in India and $ USD / crypto elsewhere.
  • Support messages: what you write to us, so we can answer.

What we never collect: your voice audio, your dictations, your transcripts, your notes, or your Groq / Fish API keys. Transcription and correction run directly from your Mac to Groq and Fish with your keys — Talkuza's backend never sees, proxies, or stores that traffic.

How we use it

  • To create your account and deliver your redeem code by email.
  • To check your subscription is active when the app opens, and to enforce the device limit.
  • To match your payment to your order (order reference + exact amount) and issue the code.
  • To answer support messages and fix delivery problems.
  • To send service emails: your redeem code, trial code, expiry warnings, and renewal reminders. No marketing emails unless you ask for them.

We do not sell personal data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to train AI models.

Data controls

You control your data from your Account page and inside the app:

  • Devices: see every Mac bound to your account — device ID, last-seen IP, device name, macOS version, last active, app version — and remove any Mac you no longer use. Removing a Mac revokes its access immediately.
  • Subscription: see your plan, expiry countdown, and referral link; buy more months any time.
  • Correction data: in the app, Settings → Data and Privacy controls what the app stores locally and what it sends for correction. Nothing is sent to Talkuza's servers — correction traffic goes to Groq with your key.
  • Erasure: ask us to delete your account and we will erase your personal data (see Your rights below). Redeem-code and order records needed for accounting are kept in anonymised form only as long as the law requires.

Your rights (DPDP Act 2023)

As a Data Principal under India's DPDP Act 2023, you have the right to:

  • Access — ask what personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate data (for example a mistyped email on an order).
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your account and personal data. We will confirm once it's done.
  • Grievance redressal — raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer (below) and expect a response.
  • Withdraw consent — stop using the service and ask for erasure; optional features (like notifications) can be switched off in the app without deleting your account.

To exercise any right, email support@talkuza.online from the email address on your account, or use the contact form. We verify identity by matching the email and, where needed, the redeem code on the account. We respond to verified requests within 30 days.

Children

Talkuza is not directed at children under 18. If you are under 18, please use Talkuza only with a parent or guardian, and do not send us personal data without their consent.

Grievance officer

For any privacy complaint under the DPDP Act 2023, contact our Grievance Officer at support@talkuza.online with the subject “DPDP Grievance”. Include your account email and a description of the issue. We acknowledge grievances within 48 hours and resolve them within 30 days.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll note the new “Last updated” date here and, for active subscribers, include a short note in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
